You hear shots fired, there is an active shooter. What do you do?The key word is "OUT".1. GET OUT...if you can safely leave the area find an exit and get out.2. HIDE OUT...if you can not get out then hide out. Duck under your desk, silence your cell phone and remain still and quiet. If you can close the door, close it, lock it and place a heavy object in front of it. If others are with you then spread out in the room.3. TAKE OUT...if there is no other choice and you are face to face with the shooter then take them out.Establish a plan before the emergency happens and practice. Rehearsing these situations creates awareness and lessens panic when there is a real life situation.
